Ballard and ABB are one step closer to deploying a jointly developed fuel cell concept, capable of generating 3MW of electrical power, for the maritime industry.
The duo on Wednesday (Feb 23) unveiled that they have received approval in principle (AiP) for the technology that will support the energy needs of multi-megawatt scale vessels with diverse use cases.
Representing an important milestone in the partnership, the awarded AiP confirms the feasibility of design and give the duo a green light to continue with its product development.
