Acerinox, Tecnicas Reunidas to decarbonise steel production plant with hydrogen

Acerinox and Tecnicas Reunidas have revealed an agreement today (July 21) to work together to study decarbonisation processes of the Spanish Acerinox Europa facilities with hydrogen included.

The plant, situated in Cádiz, Spain, is an integrated stainless steel production plant with a capacity of over one million tonnes per year.

The project seeks to identify the most suitable decarbonisation technologies for each industrial sub-process with special attention to electrification from renewable energies, green or blue hydrogen, bio-energies and carbon capture and storage.
