ACWA Power signs hydrogen and power purchase agreements with Uzbek chemical and power firms

Saudi-based ACWA Power has signed a Hydrogen Purchase Agreement (HPA) with Uzbekistan state-owned chemical firm Uzkimyosanoat and a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the National Power Grid of Uzbekistan.

Signed on Wednesday (May 17), the HPA outlines the offtake of 3,000 tonnes per year for 15 years, while PPA for 52-100MW of renewables capacity will last for 25 years.

The contracts have a combined value of $100m.
