ADNOC starts construction of high-speed hydrogen refuelling station

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has today (July 18) announced it has begun construction of what it says is the first high-speed hydrogen refuelling station in the Middle East.

Being built in Masdar City, a sustainable urban community in the capital of the UAE, the station will produce its own hydrogen with an electrolyser powered by “clean grid electricity.”

Although ADNOC has not revealed details about the station’s hydrogen dispensing pressure or capacity, it has said its Distribution arm will operate the station upon its completion later this year (2023) and has plans for a second station in Dubai Golf City which will be equipped with a “conventional hydrogen fuelling system.”
