AeroDelft hydrogen aircraft ready for flight

AeroDelft’s hydrogen-powered Phoenix PT aircraft is ready for flight.

The Dutch student team on Saturday (July 31) shared the news, stating that there will first be a flight on batteries, followed by gaseous hydrogen and then finally liquid hydrogen.

In a recent presentation, Prototype Technical Manager Sam Rutten said how for each of the three flight stages the systems have been developed and thoroughly tested.

Last week, the team also received the kit of its full-scale aircraft, which they will adjust to fly on hydrogen in the coming years.
