AFC Energy partners with Extreme E to power first electric rally series with hydrogen

A revolutionary first in international motorsport, AFC Energy is teaming up with Extreme E to showcase to a global audience how hydrogen can be used as a viable alternative to dirty diesel.

The brainchild of the people behind the Formula E racing series, Extreme E will see teams racing bespoke off-road electric SUVs in some of the remote corners of the planet, powered by AFC Energy’s hydrogen-fuelled H-Power Charger.

The rally championship will be the first ever organiser to utilise hydrogen fuel cell generators for remote charging, AFC Energy said.

The inaugural Extreme E championship series will take place throughout 2021 across five locations including the Artic, the Amazon Rainforest and the coast of Senegal.
