Air Liquide has today (March 23) revealed plans to construct an industrial-scale ammonia cracking pilot plant in the Port of Antwerp, Belgium, to support hydrogen imports.
Using the industrial gas giant’s proprietary technologies, the plant is set to facilitate the conversion of ammonia to hydrogen, as the company looks to further contribute to the development of hydrogen in the energy transition.
With hopes for the plant to be operational in 2024, the Flemish Government, through the Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) has confirmed its financial support of the project.
