AKKA unveils Green&Fly hydrogen aircraft concept

A greener way to fly. That’s exactly what AKKA wants to offer with its new hydrogen-powered concept aircraft, aptly called Green&Fly.

Unveiled on Wednesday (Oct 13), the aircraft is designed to carry up to 30 passengers for a range of 500km as a regional transport alternative.

The design boasts a rhombohedral wing share to generate less turbulence as wing extremity to allow for a significant reduction in drag.

Other features include a flexible cabin design, energy recovery landing great, with electric extension/retraction and a stiffer structure to improve efficiency and reduce aircraft mass.

Green&Fly is powered by hydrogen fuel cell batteries and supercapacitors.

Commenting on the innovation, Mauro Ricci, Group CEO of AKKA Technologies, said, “I am extremely proud of our engineers who have come up with this aircraft concept we are unveiling today.

“Green&Fly showcases AKKA’s significant expertise in emerging and clean technologies, solidifying our position as partner of choice for our customers as they transition towards mor sustainable products and solutions.

“I am convinced that hydrogen is one of the most promising technologies, paving the way for a new era in the aviation industry, among others.
