Alstom, Air Products to support hydrogen-powered rail in Czech Republic

Alstom and Air Products have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deploy hydrogen-powered trains in the Czech Republic, in a bid to support the decarbonisation of mobility in Europe.

Under the MoU, the two companies will facilitate the use of Alstom’s Coradia iLint trains on Czech railways, with Air Products supplying necessary refuelling infrastructure.

Alstom presented the hydrogen fuel cell-powered train in the Czech Republic and Slovakia during its Railshow in May 2022, whilst Air Products also participated by refilling the Coradia iLint with hydrogen from a mobile refuelling station.
