APA Group aiming to blend hydrogen into Victoria’s gas network in Australia

APA Group has revealed today (Dec 6) a new proposal aiming to test Victoria’s, Australia, high pressure gas transmission system to safely blend hydrogen into the gas network.

In doing so, vast parts of Victoria will gain access to hydrogen as a means to power and heat residential and commercial areas contributing to the decarbonisation of the state.

The hydrogen safety proposal, which would test 39 sections of the Victorian network under pressurised hydrogen conditions, is part of APA’s five yearly access arrangement proposal to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER).
