Hydrogen and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) are two priority areas of a new deal signed today (26th Oct) by Australia and Singapore, as the two countries look to advance cooperation on low-emissions technologies and solutions.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed today at a virtual ceremony held on the sidelines of the Singapore International Energy Week 2020, will see Australia and Singapore share technical knowledge and experience, and collaborate on the development of new technologies that will reduce emissions.
It was signed by Australia’s Energy and Emissions Reduction Minister Angus Taylor and Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing.
“Technological progress is the only way to reduce emissions while continuing to grow our economies and maintain reliable and affordable energy,” Taylor said.
