Australian Government supports Tasmanian hydrogen hub with AUD$70m

AUD$70m ($45.9m) of Australian Government funding is set to help build a hydrogen hub in northern Tasmania.

The Bell Bay Hydrogen Hub is hoped to support the production of up to 45,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, to aid the manufacture of green metals and alloys.

With an established port infrastructure, Bell Bay is already home to an experienced and skilled workforce, the government said. It is hoped the region will become a significant location for hydrogen production, use, storage and export.
