Australian start-up begins exploration testing for natural hydrogen

Gold Hydrogen has started exploration well testing at a site in South Australia which could hold 1.3 million tonnes of natural hydrogen.

The start-up plans to extract hydrogen and helium from the Ramsay project site near Adelaide for further analysis.

Having drilled two wells last year which found natural hydrogen at a purity of up to 86% and helium up to 6.8% of raw gas, the exploration tests are expected to last for the majority of March (2024).
