Australian start-up uncovers high-purity natural hydrogen at test well

An Australian start-up says it has uncovered 95.8% pure hydrogen at a natural hydrogen test well in South Australia.

Having commenced testing at the Ramsay project site near Adelaide in March, Gold Hydrogen said the energy carrier was confirmed in seven different zones, with helium also identified.

The company said hydrogen was found at up to 95.8% purity at a depth of 531m on an air-corrected basis – its highest reading yet.
