Bloom Energy and SK ecoplant plan 1.8MW SOEC demo in South Korea

Bloom Energy’s solid oxide electrolyser (SOEC) technology is planned to be deployed in South Korea as part of a 1.8MW green hydrogen demonstration project.

Expected to commence in late 2025, the project between SK ecoplant, Korea Southern Power Co. and local government, is intended to develop green hydrogen at scale for use as fuel for transport on Jeju Island.

For the project, SK ecoplant and Bloom will combine the Bloom Electrolyzer™ with SK’s engineering infrastructure to produce hydrogen.
