BMW signs supply contract with H2 Green Steel

BMW Group has signed a final contract for the delivery of hydrogen-produced, carbon dioxide reduced steel from the Swedish firm H2 Green Steel.

As part of the agreement, H2 View understands the two companies have also agreed on technical cooperation which will include several measures that will address BMW’s Science Based Targets (SBT) and contribute to its ambitious carbon reduction timeline.

Committed to Scope 1, 2, and upstream Scope 3 GHG Protocol requirement, H2 Green Steel says it has an embodied carbon emission intensity obligation per tonne of steel, included in its customer contracts.
