Bosch’s bet on hydrogen mobility: ‘Right solution, right use case’

Dr. Thomas Wintrich, Senior Vice-President, Fuel Cell Mobility Solutions at Bosch, has told H2 View fuel cells are the “right technology and heavy-duty is the right use case,” following the company’s announced mass-production programme of its PEM fuel cell modules.

Speaking to H2 View at the German multinational’s Stuttgart-Feuerbach plant last Thursday (July 13), Wintrich stressed the company was committed to meeting climate targets and that hydrogen fits the use case of long-haul transportation.

“We are fully committed to the reduction of CO2 and we started investing into electro-mobility,” he said. “But we figured out, for long-haul trucks that have to go 800-1,000km per day, we needed something else.”
