Bruce County in Ontario, Canada has been touted as a “prime region” to advance a hydrogen economy.
According to the County Council, the region is positioned to be a catalyst for the developing hydrogen industry in Ontario thanks to its economy, location, natural resources, readiness to build and project partners.
Hatch and Plan Group announced in December 2020 that they would undertake a study to evaluate the feasibility of the power-to-gas demonstration of green hydrogen production and local energy storage capabilities as an initial step towards large-scale deployment of hydrogen, and eventual commercialisation.
