Cepsa selects thyssenkrupp nucera electrolysers for €3bn Spanish hydrogen hub

Spanish energy firm Cepsa has selected thyssenkrupp nucera as preferred electrolyser supplier for its 2GW hydrogen valley project, awarding the German manufacturer a basic engineering design package for a 300MW system.

Under the agreement, thyssenkrupp nucera will supply 15 20MW alkaline electrolyser modules to the first phase of Cepsa’s Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley in Spain, where it plans to develop 2GW of production capacity by 2030.

The first phase of the Cepsa valley will focus on a green hydrogen plant at Cepsa’s La Rábida Energy Park in Huelva as part of a partnership with Fertiberia.
