‘Circulative energy system’ to provide hydrogen to power lunar rovers and outposts

The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and Honda R&D have revealed today (June 14) a joint feasibility study on a ‘circulative renewable energy system’ in space, designed to supply oxygen, hydrogen and electricity for rovers and outposts.

In addition to the water and food, hydrogen will be utilised as fuel and electricity that will power various space activities.

One of the solutions to get oxygen and hydrogen without having to resupply from Earth would be to create a renewable energy system which combines a differential pressure water electrolysis system.
