Société Nationale Industrielle et Miniére (SNIM) and AMAN Green Energy will collaborate on a new facility for the production of green direct reduced iron (DRI).
Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), SNIM and the CWP Global subsidiary will produce millions of tonnes of green iron for export using CWP’s 30GW project ‘AMAN’ in Mauritania.
The proposed hub will be capable of converting Mauritanian raw iron ore into millions of tonnes of green hot briquetted iron (HBI) per year, which will be exported to the European steel industry from 2030.
