Daimler to introduce hydrogen vehicles by 2020

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Daimler Trucks & Buses is aiming to offer carbon dioxide (CO2) neutral vehicles by 2039 through the deployment of cleaner technologies such a hydrogen.

The company has shared ambitions to extend its vehicle offering with the addition of a hydrogen-powered series by the end of the next decade.

“At Daimler Trucks & Buss we are clearly committed to the goals of the Paris Climate Protection Agreement and thus to the decarbonisation of our industry,” said Martin Daum, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG.

“Having CO2 neutral transport on the road by 2050 is our ultimate goal. This can only be achieved if competitive conditions for CO2 neutral transport are created for our customers in terms of costs and infrastructure.”
