DNV to assess hydrogen blending feasibility in Canada

DNV will undertake hydrogen blending feasibility studies for Enbridge and FortisBC Energy’s projects in British Columbia, Canada.

The independent energy expert will study the percentage of hydrogen that can be safely transported through existing natural gas pipeline infrastructure in Enbridge’s transmission system and FortisBC’s distribution system.

Expected to be the largest blending studies undertaken in North America, the two individual evaluations will establish the safety, technical and economic requirements needed to identify and introduce the best hydrogen concentration levels for the system.
