e-Blast H2 to debut at Daker Rally 2022

A new fuel cell system is under development for Green Corp Konnection’s (GCK) Motorsport e-Blast Daker Rally race car – a move that will see the first hydrogen-powered cross-country vehicle at Daker Rally 2022.

For decades, the Daker Rally has been dominated by highly modified entries with internal combustion engines. However, with its organisers pushing for a fully green roster by 2030, the rally is now providing fertile ground for companies seeking to provide the performance of the electrified mobility solutions.

With that in mind, November last year (2020) saw GCK Motorsport announce its intent to go green with the cross-country efforts and unveil its e-Blast 1 off-road racing car. Yesterday (25th March), that effort took another step forward with a new partnership with FEV, an expert in vehicle and power train development.

Under the agreement, FEV will support fuel cell system development in GCK Motorsport’s race car and help the company to become the first team to present a hydrogen-powered cross-country vehicle at Dakar 2022 before competing in the rally in 2023.
