EDF’s Tees hydrogen production project reaches NZHF final stages

EDF Renewables UK and its subsidiary Hynamics have announced its North East-based Tees Green Hydrogen project has progressed to the Net Zero Hydrogen Fund’s (NZHF) final stages.

The project is planning to produce green hydrogen via electrolysis powered by electricity from EDF’s UK portfolio, combined with direct power from the proposed Tees solar farm project which the company has submitted plans for.

EDF expects to supply the green hydrogen to local industry and transport to support decarbonisation efforts, achieving a reduction in industrial pollution and secure long-term sustainability.
