Enapter wins seven-figure order for three AEM electrolyser units

Enapter has received its largest single order for three 1MW AEM Nexus 1000 units from Italy.

Boasting 420 modular AEM stacks forming a complete multicore system capable of producing 450kg of hydrogen per day, the solutions will be delivered to CFFT SpA.

Operating a harbour near Rome, CFFT will use the electrolysers in a hydrogen refuelling system and operate them with sustainably generated electricity.

The AEM Nexus 1000 can produce green hydrogen on an industrial scale, due to its “market leading operational flexibility and reactivity to intermittent renewables.” The electrolyser container can also avoid the use of costly materials such as iridium.

H2 View understands that the undisclosed order is in the seven-figure euro range. Another Italian company, F.i.l.m SpA, has also order a 1MW AEM Nexus 1000 electrolyser.

Commenting on LinkedIn, Jürgen Laakmann, CEO at Enapter, claimed it’s “great to see more and more companies are focusing on their own local green hydrogen production.”

“With our iridium-free AEM technology, we can offer the flexibility required for operation and expansion with renewable energies,” added the CEO.

The company unveiled its 1MW multicore AEM system last year (2023), having already received orders from Europe, Asia and North America.

One of the orders was from South Korea, to use two AEM multicore electrolysers in a 12.5MW project on Jeju Island.

Partner YEST would carry out the installation of the solutions, which are expected to produce more than 1,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year.
