EnBW to utilise GE Vernova equipment to convert hydrogen-ready power plants

GE Vernova has secured two orders from EnBW to deliver its H-Class natural gas-fired combined cycle power generation equipment for hydrogen-ready power plants.

EnBW’s combined heat and power (CHP) power stations in Heilbronn and Altbach/Deizisau, near Stuttgart, will benefit from the equipment, construction of the plants and the software solutions, maintenance and services for 10 years, which is all included in the order.

The two CHP plants are expected to deliver around 1.4GW to the national grid – the equivalent needed to power over two million German homes – and each 680MW power plant will replace existing coal-fired units at Heilbronn and Altbach/Deizisau.
