EU pumps €6bn into Western Balkans growth plan

The EU is to invest €6bn in the Western Balkans to spur growth and serve as a ‘stepping stone’ to the European single market.

The majority (€4bn) will be in loans with the balance in grants between 2024-2027. Seven priority areas have been identified, including integration and decarbonisation of energy markets.
