Europe adopts CBAM implementation rules

On Thursday (August 17), the European Commission adopted rules for the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), during its two-year transition period starting on October 1, 2023.

Agreed between the European Parliament and Council last December (2022), CBAM looks to put a fair price on carbon emitted during the production of imported goods, including hydrogen.
