Evolito to supply electric motors for Cranfield’s hydrogen-powered aircraft project

UK-based electric aerospace propulsion specialist Evolito has joined Cranfield Aerospace Solutions’ (CAeS) project to develop a hydrogen-powered aircraft demonstrator.

Evolito joins Reaction Engines and Ricardo as a technology collaborator and will supply its motor and inverters for Project Fresson.

The project, launched in 2021, aims to use hydrogen fuel cell technology to develop a commercially viable retrofit powertrain solutions for the nine-seat Britten-Norman Islander aircraft.
