Exclusive: Hydrogen provides hope for every nation

Hydrogen is going through some very interesting debates at present. Many of them are well ventilated: blue versus green, to blend or not to blend, to burn or not to burn, export versus domestic use, the efficacy and desirability of carbon capture and storage (CCS) and the role of governments.

However, there is another important debate emerging that needs to be addressed as the world packs its bags (those of us who can) and heads to Glasgow.

It is the belief that we can “electrify everything” and it is particularly popular in Australia where we have a long, thin electricity grid dominated by ageing coal-fired power stations and surging variable renewable energy.
