Eyes on targets at day one of the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition 2023

Day one of the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, heard that policy and industry must work together in order to meet targets.

Kicking off the day, Jeannette Baljeu, Regional Minister of the Province of Zuid-Holland told attendees, “The first step should always be done by businesses, but this is a transition discussion. And in that transition discussion, you also need the politics to set the agenda.”

Baljeu explained the province in the south of the country was also a permitting body. “We also have the authority on the environmental and spatial planning issues,” she said. “So, I think we need each other to make this transition work.”
