FdC orders three more hydrogen-powered trains from Stadler

Italian railway operator Ferrovie della Calabria (FdC) has ordered three additional hydrogen-powered trains from Stadler.

The narrow-gauge locomotives are set to run on regional and local transport networks in Calabria, Italy, part of a framework agreement signed in 2023 for up to 15 hydrogen-powered trains.

The two companies signed the second call-off for the delivery of the three extra hydrogen locomotives at the start of 2024, bringing its total train capacity to nine. They are expected to enter operations on regional and local transport routes in 2026.
