FDE and the HECO2 consortium committed to promoting production of low-carbon hydrogen

French company FDE has announced the selection by the Walloon government of the HECO2-PLASMALYSE HYBRIDE consortium to promote the use of low-carbon hydrogen in the Belgian region.

HECO2 aims to build a clean hydrogen production pilot by Hybrid Plasmalysis, which consists of transforming different sources of methane into clean hydrogen and solid renewable forms.

The projects’ final objective is to construct a plant of 15,000 tonnes of hydrogen and 45,000 tonnes of carbon materials, focusing on the reduction of direct CO2 emissions.
