First Hydrogen achieves highest ever mileage during hydrogen-powered vehicle trials

First Hydrogen has completed a one-month trial of its hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles (FCEV) with Wales & West Utilities (WWU).

During the trial, the vehicle accrued its highest ever mileage, completing more than 1,200 miles over four weeks and travelling up to 117 miles per day on urban roads and highways in cold Welsh conditions.

The vehicle power output during the trials were higher than 60kW in transient accelerations and H2 View understands, there were no decreases in performance or range when operating in colder temperatures.

The FCEV was shared by two drivers of WWU’s Network Emergency and Metering Services team, who averaged around six visits per day to customers.
