First Hydrogen has announced SSE will be the first UK utility to trial use its hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicle (LCV).
SSE currently operates one of the largest vehicle fleets in the UK and has pledged to switch 2,500 of its vehicles to electric, in support of the goal to reach Net Zero.
The vehicle will be deployed with SSE engineers, to be used in real-life fleet operations for the first time, enabling First Hydrogen to gather data on fuel consumption, usage and efficiency, to therefore calculate Total Cost of Ownership.
