First-of-its-kind project in Canada to demonstrate performance benefits of CcH2 in trucks

Verne will ensure the development and demonstration of a Class 8 truck powered by cryo-compressed hydrogen (CcH2) after it was awarded a grant by Alberta Innovates.

Verne told H2 View that the grant totalled CAD $2m, contingent on meeting specific milestones throughout the project.

Both Verne and Alberta-based partners will collaborate to retrofit an existing diesel internal combustion engine (ICE) to run on a diesel/hydrogen blend. Verne is expected to then demonstrate a proprietary mobile CcHrefueller with Alberta fleets.
