Ford Trucks and CMB.TECH to convert F-Max trucks to dual-fuel hydrogen systems

Ford Trucks has partnered with Belgium’s CMB.TECH to convert Ford F-Max trucks to run on a dual-fuel hydrogen combination.

Set to be converted at CMB.TECH’s workshop in Antwerp, Belgium, the partners plan for the first trucks to be delivered in 2023, with hopes of further scaling up the concept.

CMB.TECH will undertake the conversion, which it says requires no adjustment to the traditional diesel engine other than adding a hydrogen injection ring to the airline, allowing for hydrogen to be aspirated into the combustion chamber.
