Gen2 Energy and Höegh LNG have joined forces to develop a seaborne logistics chain for green hydrogen as part of an effort to reduce both hydrogen transportation costs and carbon emissions.
The duo today (June 8) formalised the agreement to take a first mover position in seaborn transportation of green hydrogen, a market which the partnership says does not exist on a large scale at present.
Commenting on the cooperation, Jonas Meyer, CEO in Gen2 Energy said, “I am very pleased to sign this cooperation agreement with Höegh LNG.
“The company has close to 100 years’ experience from the maritime industry, including handling and transport of natural gas, which is valuable when developing a new market for seaborne transport of hydrogen.”
