GenComm has welcomed the introduction of the Northern Ireland Energy Strategy that intends to use hydrogen as a primary vector in which to decarbonise several hard-to-abate sectors.
Outlined within the strategy is three primary targets that includes developing the green economy, so that is double the size of the low carbon and renewable energy economy and is producing a turnover of more than £2bn ($2.65bn) by 2030.
Hydrogen will play an important role within this strategy and with the nation’s substantial wind resources, it could become a key producer of industrial-scale green hydrogen in the near future.
