Gentari, SEDC to launch JV for Malaysian hydrogen hub development

Petronas subsidiary Gentari and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) are set to launch a joint venture (JV) to develop a centralised hydrogen production hub in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Under the Heads of Agreement (HoA), Gentari Hydrogen and SEDC Energy plan to develop large-scale hydrogen production capacity in Bintulu to serve as the “sole supplier” of green hydrogen for downstream facilities.

To undertake the plans, Gentari and SEDC Energy plan to establish a JV company which will be responsible for optimising “all” hydrogen production projects within the region.
