Geopolitics and quality challenges limit China’s electrolyser market reach

Geopolitics and quality challenges will limit the reach of Chinese electrolysers in Western markets, according to Stephen B. Harrison of sbh4 GmbH.

The geopolitics surrounding electrolyser supply has been a topic on the tip of many tongues in recent months. Concerns that the industry is on the brink of an electrolyser “oversupply” circle as companies and nations commit to scaling manufacturing.

China has been thrust to the centre of that conversation, with some reports suggesting the People’s Republic has been “significantly overspending” on electrolyser capacity.
