Government legislations have ‘set the stage’ for hydrogen industry players, says Barker

At H2 View’s 2023 Renewables and Ecosystem Snap Summit, Christopher Barker, Managing Partner at Hyve1, told the viewers that hydrogen businesses now have the opportunity the ‘set the stage’ through the introduction of new legislations.

“Admittedly, the US is playing a game of catch up to all the great work that’s been done in Europe and Asia Pacific (APAC),” said Barker. “But (we’re) excited about how the world is waking up and realising that we have this opportunity and if we do this right, we’re really going to set the stage for what the next 100 years of energy and transportation is going to look like.”

Barker cited laws and legislations such as the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the Paris Climate Agreement, and California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard as altered the landscape of the clean energy industry.
