Floene Energias has launched the “first” green hydrogen injection demonstration project in Portugal’s natural gas distribution network.

During the project, Floene will transport green hydrogen through its newly construction hydrogen pipeline, injecting it into its existing natural gas network, to be distributed to around 80 residential, commercial and industrial locations.

Floene’s grid connects around 1.13 million households across Portugal, with over 13,498km of pipelines, distributing approximately 1.7bcm of gas per year.
