Green hydrogen to soon be injected in New Jersey’s existing natural gas pipeline

Plans for a new power-to-gas facility in Howell, New Jersey, that will use solar power to produce green hydrogen for home and commercial use have moved forward.

Green hydrogen produced at the site will be injected into an existing natural gas distribution network.

CB&I Storage Solutions will carry out the engineering, procurement and construction for the facility, after yesterday (3rd Feb) being awarded a contract by New Jersey Natural Gas.

Initial engineering activities are currently underway in Plainfield, Illinois; project completion is expected in 2021.
