Green light for GreenPower’s Argyll Hydrogen Hub

GreenPower has received planning application approval for its green hydrogen production and distribution centre on the west coast of Scotland.

Located at the Glenshellach Industrial Estate in Oban, Argyll and Bute, the hydrogen hub will be supplied with renewable power from a nearby 46MW wind farm.

The Argyll Hydrogen Hub is expected to serve local ferries, heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), trains, buses, industrial power and heating. GreenPower is now considering hydrogen production at its other generation sites, such as the proposed Barachander Wind Farm.
