H2 Green Steel is currently working on four other green hydrogen-based steel production projects in the Americas and Europe, a company executive has told the World Hydrogen Summit.
Kasja Ryttberg-Wallgren, Executive Vice-President, Growth & Hydrogen Business at H2 Green Steel, said the company was not founded to build just one plant and it was looking for locations to replicate its first steel plant in Sweden.
The company of three and a half years is currently building an integrated 700MW green hydrogen production and direct reduced iron (DRI) plant in Boden, northern Sweden, where it plans to deliver a maximum of five million tonnes of steel with up to 95% less carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions to customers.
