Haldor Topsoe to supply green hydrogen-based ammonia facility

Last week, H2 View reported plans for a $5bn green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility in Neom, Saudi Arabia. Today in a new update, Haldor Topsoe has revealed it will supply its ammonia technology for the site.

The NEOM project will produce the green hydrogen to power buses and trucks globally and will be equally owned by partners Air Products, ACWA Power, and NEOM.

Using Topsoe’s proven technology, the hydrogen will be converted into 3,500 tonnes per day – or 1.2 million tonnes per year – of green ammonia.

Air Products will be the exclusive off-taker of the green ammonia and intends to transport it around the world to be dissociated to produce carbon-free hydrogen for the transportation market.
