HIA formed to advance the UK hydrogen aviation industry

A group of leading companies involved in the UK aviation industry have established the Hydrogen in Aviation (HIA) alliance to accelerate the adoption of zero carbon aviation.

Rolls-Royce, easyJet, Airbus, Ørsted, GKN Aerospace and Bristol Airport have all formed the alliance and will work together to use their expertise to propose a clear and deliverable pathway to achieve hydrogen-powered aviation.

The HIA will work with government, local authorities, the hydrogen and aviation sectors to enable the UK’s potential as a global leader in this application of hydrogen, by setting out a pathway for the scaling up of infrastructure and policy, regulatory and safety frameworks needed.
