US multinational Honeywell on Monday (April 10) announced its new Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) solution to enable the long-distance transportation of clean hydrogen.
According to the company, the solution can help meet the growing demand for hydrogen use across various industries by leveraging existing refinery and transportation infrastructure.
Due to its low density and flammable nature, gaseous hydrogen is difficult to transport and store. Honeywell has said, solutions such as liquefaction and conversion to ammonia would require additional infrastructure to accommodate new volume.
